About Paraphrasing Tool
Paraphraser rewrites English text by replacing words with fitting synonyms, while keeping your meaning and sentence structure. You stay in control: every change is highlighted, and you can pick a different word or undo it with one click.
How it works
The tool uses a curated English thesaurus of common words, combined with grammar rules. It reads the surrounding words to tell whether "record" is a noun or a verb, then chooses a synonym of the same type. It keeps verb tenses ("walked" → "strolled"), plurals and capital letters intact, and it fixes "a" and "an" when the next word changes.
The modes change how much is rewritten and in what style:
- Standard: a balanced rewrite that swaps a fair share of words.
- Fluent: light changes that stay very close to the original.
- Creative: more changes and more varied vocabulary.
- Formal: expands contractions and replaces casual phrases with professional ones.
- Simple: replaces complex words with plain ones ("utilize" → "use").
What you can use it for
- Avoid repeating the same words in emails, product descriptions or social posts.
- Make a draft sound more professional, or easier to read for a general audience.
- Find better word choices while you write.
Tips for the best results
- Always read the result. Synonyms rarely mean exactly the same thing in every context.
- Click a highlighted word to see the alternatives, and pick the most natural one.
- Use Fluent for important text where accuracy matters more than variety.
Use it honestly: rewording someone else's work doesn't make it yours. When you use ideas from a source, cite it, even if the wording has changed.
