About AI Background Remover
Background Remover cuts the subject out of a photo automatically. You get a clean PNG with a transparent background, or the same cut-out on white or any color you choose. There's no lasso, no brush and no layer masks: the AI finds the edges for you.
How it works
The tool runs an image segmentation model directly in your browser. The model looks at every pixel and estimates how likely it is to belong to the foreground (the person, product or object) or the background. That estimate becomes an alpha mask with soft values along the edges, so hair, fur and semi-transparent areas blend naturally instead of looking cut out with scissors.
Two models are available. General handles products, animals, objects and people. Portrait is smaller and faster, and it's trained specifically on people, which gives cleaner results on selfies and headshots. The model is downloaded once, then cached by your browser, so the next images are processed in seconds.

Tips for the best results
- Use a photo where the subject is in focus and clearly separated from the background. Contrast helps the model most.
- Choose Portrait for people and General for everything else. If one model misses a detail, try the other.
- Keep the result as PNG. JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas would turn solid.
- For product shots, pick the white background option to meet marketplace image rules in one step.
Private by design: your image never leaves your computer. Unlike most online background removers, nothing is uploaded to a server, so you can safely use it for unreleased products, personal photos and client work.
