About QR Code Generator

QR Code Generator creates QR codes that open a link, join a Wi-Fi network, save a contact, start an email, call or text. You can customize the colors and style, then download a print-ready PNG or SVG.

How it works

A QR code stores data in a grid of black and white squares called modules. The three large squares in the corners help cameras find and straighten the code. Your content is encoded directly into the image. Many "free" generators instead create a short redirect link that they control, which can expire, be paywalled or track your visitors. These codes are static, so they work forever with no middleman.

Special content types use standard formats that phones understand. WIFI: offers to join a network, a vCard opens "Add contact", and mailto:, tel: and sms: start a message or call.

Error correction levels

  • L (7%): the smallest, simplest code, for clean screens.
  • M (15%): the best default for most uses.
  • Q (25%): printed codes that may get scuffed.
  • H (30%): outdoor signs, or when you plan to put a logo in the middle.

Tips for codes that always scan

  • Keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background. Inverted or pale codes fail on many phones.
  • Leave a quiet margin around the code, at least 4 modules wide.
  • Print it at least 2 × 2 cm (0.8 in). As a rule, the code should be a tenth of the scanning distance.
  • Use SVG for print, so the code stays perfectly sharp at any size.
  • Keep URLs short. Less data means bigger modules and faster scanning.
  • Test the code with two different phones before printing a large batch.

Questions about this tool

Something missing? Write to contact@ultratoolsai.com.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The content is encoded directly into the image, with no redirects or tracking, so the code works forever.

Which error correction level should I use?

M (15%) suits most uses. Choose Q or H for printed codes that might get scratched or that you plan to place a logo over.

How does a Wi-Fi QR code work?

Scanning it with a phone camera offers to join the network automatically, with no password typing needed. It uses the standard WIFI: format supported by iOS and Android.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. QR codes are generated in your browser, so Wi-Fi passwords and contact details never leave your device.
