About Markdown to HTML
Markdown to HTML is a live Markdown editor. Write with simple symbols like # and **, see the formatted result instantly, and export clean HTML for your website, blog, documentation or email.
What is Markdown?
Markdown is a lightweight way to format text using plain characters. It was created to be easy to read even before it's converted. It's used everywhere: GitHub READMEs, documentation sites, note-taking apps like Obsidian and Notion, forums, and static site generators.

How it works
The editor uses marked, a fast parser that follows the CommonMark and GitHub Flavored Markdown specifications. The preview is cleaned with DOMPurify, which blocks scripts and other unsafe HTML. The exported HTML is semantic markup with no inline styles, so it takes on your site's own design.
Tips
- Leave a blank line between paragraphs, lists and headings. Most formatting problems come from missing blank lines.
- Add a language after the code fence, such as
```js, so syntax highlighters on your site can color it. - Use Download page for a standalone file you can open or email, and Copy HTML to paste into a CMS.
- Your draft is saved in this browser automatically. Download the .md file to keep a permanent copy.
